 Recessive White Gene   $15.00
(Chickens Only)
​
-The recessive white gene test shows whether a chicken carries the hidden gene that can turn feathers white by blocking color production. A chicken with two copies of this gene may appear completely white, while a chciken with one copy can carry the gene without showing.
-This test helps breeders identify carriers, predict chick color, make better breeding decitions.
      Blue Egg Gene    $15.00
 (Chickens Only)

-The blue egg gene test reveals whether a chicken carries the gene responsible for producing blue-colored eggs. This helps breeders identify birds that can lay blue eggs or pass the blue egg trait to their offspring.
-This test can help with breeding plans, predicting egg color, and creating egg-laying lines.

DNA Test Collection Options
-Purchase testing kit $2.00  (NOT REQUIRED)
-blood on coffee filter or uncoated paper (preferred if you didn't purchase kit)
-feather: Emu, Ostrich coming soon

-Purchase your DNA Kit here. In your testing kit you will receive a
-PCR test tube labeledÂ
-a Ziplock bag labeled
-you will need nail clippers, and alcohol wipe
-clean the nail, let it dry clip the nail past the quick (pictures for refrence)
-drip the blood into the PCR test tube provided (little drop pictures provided)
-place tube into correct labeled bag (one test tube per bag) (can group in breed if packaged separately then into one big bag for that breed)
-Make sure to label your birds on what sample goes to what bird (use a tag or labeled zip tie) keeping up with this is your responsibilityÂ
-Mail back into testing lab
-once recieved allow 24-48 hours for results those will be emailed to you

Step by Step Instructions on how to collect the DNA Properly
                                    Mailed In Blood Samples:
-Tools:Â Alcohol wipes, nail clippers, zip lock, sharpie, coffee filter or uncoated paper (printer paper), purchase quick clot for the bleeding optional not required
-cut your paper or filter into trianglesÂ
-label your bag (breed sample 1,2,3 etc.)Â
-tag your bird with what sample goes with what bird (this is on you to keep up with)
-clean the nail with alcohol let fully dry
-Cut the nail below the quick (picture will be provided)Â
-put the tip of the paper triangle on the bloody nail
-give a second for blood to dry
-place into labled bagÂ
-mail to testing lab 75 Phillips Rd. Guntersville Al 35976
-one sample per bag (you can group individually wrapped samples into one big bag per breed)
                                         Feathers:
-This method is for Emu, Ostrich
-Bird must be 4 months old or older
-Collect 5 feathers per sample bag
-Feathers must have Dna on the end
-Feathers must be clean from any: mud, dirt, poop
-Secure your feathers together all facing same direction with tape or rubber band
-Lable your bags (sample 1,2,3)
